Moesha and Jason’s intimate wedding at Botanica Luxury Cottages in Grand Cayman came with a little weather uncertainty. After a morning of nonstop rain, we were all hoping the skies would clear for their outdoor ceremony. And in true Cayman fashion, the rain stopped just in time. Talk about perfect timing!
I had the pleasure of photographing Moesha and Jason’s engagement session a few months before their wedding, so I was especially excited to capture their big day. It was lovely seeing them again, this time surrounded by their closest family and friends as they celebrated their next chapter together.
Getting Ready: One of my favorite things about arriving early on a wedding day is having time to capture all the little details before everything gets going. When I arrived at Botanica, Moesha and her maid of honor were getting their makeup done, so I took the opportunity to photograph some of the beautiful details around the cottage.
The rain meant the flowers had to be brought indoors, but I actually loved photographing them this way. It's little details like these that help tell the full story of a wedding day.
Details: One detail that caught my attention was a collection of photographs honoring family members who had passed away. Such a beautiful and meaningful way to include their loved ones in the celebration.
Bridal Portraits: With the rain keeping us indoors, we had to get a little creative with Moesha’s bridal portraits. We made the most of the beautiful spaces inside Botanica and captured some stunning images of her before the first look.
First Look: While everyone else was gathered inside, Moesha and Jason shared a sweet first look before the ceremony. Their reactions were so genuine, and I loved capturing their excitement as they saw each other for the first time.
Ceremony: Just in time for the ceremony, the rain finally stopped! Moesha’s father walked her down the aisle as their closest family and friends gathered to watch them exchange vows. It was a small, intimate ceremony, which made it all the more special.
Family Portraits: We took a little time after the ceremony to capture everyone together, from the traditional family portraits to those sweet, candid moments in between. These are the photographs I know will only become more meaningful as the years go by.
Bride & Groom Portraits: One of my favorite parts of any wedding day is getting to spend a little time with just the bride and groom. After the ceremony and family portraits, I took Moesha and Jason around the beautiful grounds of Botanica for their couple portraits.
Reception: After the ceremony and portraits, it was time to celebrate! Everyone was a little more relaxed, enjoying good food, sharing stories, and simply being together.
